Some weddings are loud and exuberant. Others are quieter, unfolding with a sense of calm that lets every meaningful moment breathe. Felicity and Hank’s wedding at Paradise Ridge Winery was exactly that.

From the moment we met for their engagement session in the Marin Headlands, I knew they valued being fully present together. They are thoughtful, kind, and quietly elegant. Spending time together before the wedding made all the difference. By the time their wedding day arrived, they were completely comfortable in front of my camera, allowing every photograph to feel natural and effortless.

Paradise Ridge Winery was the perfect setting for their celebration.

If I were planning a wedding in Sonoma County, it would absolutely be on my own shortlist. The sweeping vineyard views, remarkable outdoor sculptures, and beautiful golden sunsets make it one of my favorite venues to photograph. Inside, the bright ballroom fills with natural light, creating a timeless backdrop that photographs beautifully from every angle.

As guests gathered for the ceremony, the late afternoon sun settled across the hills behind them, bathing the terrace in the kind of golden light photographers dream about. Afterward, we wandered through the oak trees before making our way to the overlook, where the iconic LOVE sculpture framed the vineyards in the distance. Those sunset portraits remain some of my favorite images from the day.

One of the moments I’ll remember most wasn’t planned at all. As the sun dipped lower, Felicity and Hank found themselves surrounded by their closest friends on the terrace, talking and laughing together in the warm evening light. It wasn’t a grand event or part of the timeline. It was simply one of those quiet moments that ends up meaning everything.

Every detail of the day reflected who they are.

Samar of Blissful Events created a celebration that felt effortless because she knows her couples so well and anticipates needs before anyone has to ask. Berry & Bloom filled the day with romantic florals that softened every space without ever competing with the incredible Sonoma landscape.

Felicity and Hank’s wedding was a reminder that elegance doesn’t have to feel formal, and that some of the most meaningful celebrations are also the most understated.
